Law Ka Shuk Ancestral Hall 
|
King
Law Ka Shuk Ancestral Hall was once used as the study hall
and ancestral hall of the Tang family for over one hundred
years. It still serves as a venue for clan members to hold
meetings and traditional functions. King Law Ka Shuk Ancestral
Hall was declared a monument in August 1998. The restoration
project won an Award of Merit in the UNESCO Asia-Pacific
Heritage Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation for 2001.

Mei Tuk Water Sports Centre

Tai
Mei Tuk Water Sports Centre is located beside the main dam
of Plover Cove Reservoir. The centre, offers a beautiful
scenery as well as a full view of Tolo Habour, is an ideal
place for water sports activities. A wide range of water
sport equipments , such as sailing dinghies, windsurfers
and kayaks are available in the centre. The public are welcome
to enrol for the training courses and fun days organised
by the centre.

Kong Railway Museum

The
Hong Kong Railway Museum is an open-air museum, which is
converted from the old Tai Po Railway Station. It stands
on the town cent re of Tai Po Market and occupies some 6,500
square metres. Revealing the history of the local railway
transportation, the exhibits include the historic station
building, 6 historical coaches, a narrow gauge steam locomotive
and a mock-up of the electric train. The railway station
was declared a monument in 1984, refurbished and opened
as a museum in 1985.

Wishing
Trees 
|
"Wishing
Trees" are the two large banyan trees outside the Tin
Hau Temple in Lam Tsuen. During the advent of the Chinese
New Year, villagers and visitors pray for peace and luck
by throwing the incense papers with tangerines up to the
banyan branches. The "Wishing Trees" have been
widely publicised by the media and have become a famous
sight-seeing spot for local and overseas visitors.

Po Kau Nature Reserve

Tai
Po Kau Nature Reserve is the first nature reserve in Hong
Kong . The reserve covers an area of 460 hectares and is
heavily wooded, with more than 100 different species of
trees. The reserve, with 5 fantastic walks, is an ideal
place for hiking and jogging. The 700 metre-long Nature
Trail were erected with poles carrying detailed information
on the points of interest along the trail. The reserve is
also one of the best bird-watching spots in Hong Kong .
