To provide opportunities for pupils to know more about the operation at nurseries, structure of plants, plant growth and reproduction, the relationship between plants and the environment, and the concept of environmental protection through field observation and explanation by special guides.

| |
Pupils will be briefed on plant nurseries and their important role in urban greening. The setting up of nurseries, seed sowing, artificial methods of vegetative propagation, large plant propagation, plant issuing process will be explained. The facilities and operation of greenhouse to provide a controllable environment for plant growth will also be introduced. |
| (2) | Boundary Street Nursery |
| |
Pupils will be guided to see facilities in nurseries such as shading sheds and greenhouses. Various methods of plant propagation will also be demonstrated while pupils can practise seeding and cutting by themselves. |

Applications for the above activities will be accepted from 1 September 2011 onwards. Primary schools interested in these activities can apply by completing the Application Form at Annex 3 and submit the forms by fax or by post. Due to limited places, applications will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis. (We will accept applications by fax or by post commencing at 9:00 am on 1 September 2011. Applications by fax or by post received before 1 September 2011 will not be entertained.) |
