The 5th Hong Kong Games (HKG) will be held from April 25 to May 31. The public participation activities of the 5th HKG are now in full swing. Members of the public can cast a vote for "My Favourite Sporty District", make a guess for the "Overall Champion of the 5th HKG", and participate in the Dynamic Moments Photo Contest. Services in swimming pools and beaches during new swimming season
Public swimming pools under the LCSD will be opened for public use upon the start of the new swimming season from April 1 onwards, while full lifeguard services will be provided at 38 gazetted beaches. Swimmers are reminded to keep pools clean, observe water safety and swim at beaches when lifeguard services are available.

New Sky Show simulates total solar eclipse
The latest Sky Show, "The Stories of Solar Eclipse", will be screened from now till August 31 at the Hong Kong Space Museum. It is the first full-dome Sky Show produced by the Space Museum for display using the digital planetarium projection system. The show simulates the spectacular stages of a total solar eclipse, revealing the cause of a solar eclipse and the influence of solar eclipses on human history. Advance booking for Pui O Campsite during Labour Day holiday period
Hong Kong residents who wish to use the Pui O Campsite during the Labour Day holiday period from May 1 to 3, 2015 can submit their applications from April 1 onwards in person or by post to the Islands District Leisure Services Office on sixth floor, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central. Application will close on April 13. Application results will be posted on LCSD website. For enquiries, please call 2852 3220.

2015 Bun Carnival
Members of the public are welcome to take part in a wide range of activities of the 2015 Bun Carnival to be staged at the soccer pitch of Pak Tai Temple Playground, Cheung Chau, from May 3 to 26. The Bun Scrambling Competition, the finale of the event, will be held from the night of May 25 to the small hours of the following day. Applications for participation in the Competition are open from now till April 2.

School Sports Programme Coordinator Scheme
The new term for the "School Sports Programme Coordinator (Coordinator) Scheme" (Scheme) is open for applications by all government and aided secondary schools until April 17. The Scheme will last for three years (September 1, 2015 to August 31, 2018) with 18 school quotas. Each successful school applicant will receive a maximum subvention of $350,000 per annum for implementing sports programmes for students to promote a sporting culture in school, and to employ a retired athlete as the Coordinator to implement the related sports programmes (The closing date for application of the post of Coordinator is May 4).
