  2014 Sport For All Day set for August 3
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold the 2014 Sport For All Day on August 3 (Sunday) to encourage people to keep exercise and make sports part of their daily life. Free recreation programmes will be organised at designated sports centres while various fee-charging leisure facilities will also be open to the public for free use on the day.
With the staging of the FISAC-IRSF World Rope Skipping Championship 2014 final in Hong Kong on August 3 concurrently, Sport For All Day will adopt rope skipping as its main sport theme this year. Enrolment for the free programmes will commence on July 14 (Monday) at 8.30am, and bookings for free use of land-based leisure facilities and crafts at water sports centres can be made from 9am on July 27 (Sunday) at Leisure Link booking counters.   "Summer Fun Party 2014: Fantasy Tales Adventure"
"Summer Fun Party 2014 - Fantasy Tales Adventure" will be held on August 9 & 10 from 2.30pm till 5.30pm at Ko Shan Theatre, Hung Hom. The programme is organised in support of the "International Arts Carnival 2014" with a wide range of variety programmes including musical, lion & dragon dance, children's Cantonese opera, puppet show, choral performance, movie screening and creative workshops. Come and join us in this joyful journey.

  Masters Games 2014
Swimming Competition and Badminton Competition will be held on October 5 and from October 18 to November 30 respectively. Enrolment will be opened from July 21 to 30.

  Paris • Chinese Painting - Legacy of the 20th Century Chinese Masters
Works by prominent 20th century Chinese artists including Xu Beihong, Lin Fengmian, Pan Yuliang, Sanyu, Pang Xunqin, Zao Wou-ki, Chu Teh-chun and Wu Guanzhong are currently on show at an exhibition entitled "Paris • Chinese Painting - Legacy of the 20th Century Chinese Masters" at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Demonstrating the impact of European art on 20th century Chinese painting, the exhibition runs from June 20 until September 21. For details, please visit the Hong Kong Museum of Art's website.

  Tap Dance Theatre - The Wish of Tap Tap
"The Wish of Tap Tap" combines tap dance and storytelling in this theatre production. The king sends the conceited Tap Tap, together with hippo Po Po and the sorceress to search for the love gemstones. The trio learns about respect and appreciation for others along the journey. The theatre also features magic, balloon twisting, acrobatic and interactive session, and children may be invited to join the fun of participating the performance. As the supporting programme of the International Arts Carnival, the show will be held on July 29 and 30 at the Tai Po Civic Centre Auditorium. Admission is free.

  International Arts Carnival 2014
From July 11 to August 17, the International Arts Carnival showcases an array of inspiring, yet entertaining stage performances and cultural activities such as workshops and cultural tours, aiming at sharing the enjoyment of arts with family audience. "The Extraordinary in the Ordinary: Chairs for Viewing the World through Time" exhibition
"The Extraordinary in the Ordinary: Chairs for Viewing the World through Time" exhibition is now being staged in the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Showcasing more than 100 valuable exhibits, visitors can view precious chairs from around the world and discover the hidden facets of chairs spanning history, culture and art from ancient times to the recent past. The 5th Hong Kong Games (HKG) will be held from April 25 to May 31, 2015. Athlete selection in the 18 districts has begun from June this year. New e-APS service makes booking and payment for LCSD performance venues even easier
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has launched the new e-APS service. Members of the public can now use the online system to submit booking applications and settle payments for all the 16 LCSD's performance venues anytime and anywhere. For details, please visit the website.

Creative Market in Partnership @ HKCC breathes new life into the Hong Kong Cultural Centre
"Creative Market in Partnership @ HKCC" has been launched at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) Piazza in mid-September with an aim of providing a platform for creative talents to showcase their works. By bringing together a diverse range of community and youth organization partners, the scheme aims to rejuvenate the handicraft and live arts services at the HKCC, providing a platform to foster novelty and creativity.
