The 5th Hong Kong Games Opening Ceremony
The 5th Hong Kong Games (HKG) Opening Ceremony will be held at the Hong Kong Coliseum at 7.30 pm on April 25 (Saturday) featuring special programmes including performances by the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, pop singers, luminous dragon dance, Latin dance, street dance and rope skipping. Public who have admission tickets are reminded to attend the show as scheduled. Those who are unable to turn up on the day may pass the tickets to relatives and friends so as to avoid wastage. Ticket holders are suggested to allow ample time for travelling to the venue to prevent a last-minute rush before admission. For details, please visit the 5th HKG dedicated website.

Latest Heritage Museum exhibition lets visitors take museum collection souvenirs home
The "Bring Me Home - the Story of Hong Kong Culture, Art & Design", an exhibition of local designers' souvenir creations, is now being staged at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum until May 31. Inspired by the museum collections and images which evoke the collective memory of Hong Kong people, seven renowned local designers - Stanley Wong (anothermountainman), Dr Kan Tai-keung, Alan Chan, Hon Bing-wah, Freeman Lau, Sandy Choi and Benny Au, have designed about 30 proposals for museum souvenirs, each of which has a local flavour. Some of the design concepts will be made available as museum souvenirs for public sale. The exhibition will also display the blueprints and prototypes of the souvenirs, enabling visitors to understand more of the style of designers as well as the museum collections that inspired them. Tiu Keng Leng Sports Centre to open on April 23
The Tiu Keng Leng Sports Centre, having the first outdoor climbing wall that meets the international sports climbing competition standard in the Sai Kung District, together with the outdoor open space, will be opened for public use from April 23 onwards. Members of the public can book the facilities of the sports centre starting April 14 in accordance with LCSD's booking procedure of leisure and sports facilities.

New Sky Show simulates total solar eclipse
The latest Sky Show, "The Stories of Solar Eclipse", will be screened from now till August 31 at the Hong Kong Space Museum. It is the first full-dome Sky Show produced by the Space Museum for display using the digital planetarium projection system. The show simulates the spectacular stages of a total solar eclipse, revealing the cause of a solar eclipse and the influence of solar eclipses on human history. Application of the new phase of Kowloon Park Arts Fun Fair starts
The 17th phase of the Arts Fun Fair in Kowloon Park will begin on June 7 at the Loggia and will be open from 1pm to 7pm on Sundays and public holidays until May 29, 2016. The fair will feature a total of 30 stalls selling handicrafts and artworks or providing arts services. Interested parties are welcome to submit applications from now until April 28.

New phase of Victoria Park Arts Corner starts
The new phase of Arts Corner at Victoria Park, comprising 24 handicrafts and arts services stalls, is now open between 10am and 6pm on Sundays and public holidays till March 27 next year at the South Pavilion Plaza inside the park. These stalls will be suspended when there are major events held in the park.

School Sports Programme Coordinator Scheme
The new term for the "School Sports Programme Coordinator (Coordinator) Scheme" (Scheme) is open for applications by all government and aided secondary schools until April 17. The Scheme will last for three years (September 1, 2015 to August 31, 2018) with 18 school quotas. Each successful school applicant will receive a maximum subvention of $350,000 per annum for implementing sports programmes for students to promote a sporting culture in school, and to employ a retired athlete as the Coordinator to implement the related sports programmes (The closing date for application of the post of Coordinator is May 4).
